Neurodivergent Supervision in Melbourne

ACA-Accredited Individual and Group Supervision

Supporting counsellors, therapists, and community workers across Melbourne and Australia to grow with confidence, balance, and professional integrity

Looking for Community

Are you a neurodivergent practitioner or someone who works with the neurodivergent community?

If so, you probably know how lonely or overwhelming it can feel when traditional supervision models don’t quite fit. You want to show up authentically — but you also wish to receive guidance that respects how your brain works, without judgment or pressure to “mask.”

Neurodiversity is becoming more understood in mental health, but there are still many gaps. Whether you’re a neurodivergent therapist wanting to discuss your experiences without stigma or aiming to develop specific skills to better support the neurodivergent community, working with someone who specialises can provide you with new ideas and build trust in yourself.

I operate from a non-pathologising, identity-affirming framework to support neurodivergent people in understanding their needs, recognising their strengths, and feeling empowered to meet their needs without shame. Together, we can help you and your participants feel comfortable and confident in your knowledge and trust in your skills.

Neurodivergent Professionals

You deserve inclusive and affirming supervision for the same reasons your participants deserve inclusive and affirming therapy: so you have a space to be yourself, be comfortable, and feel safe exploring how you work best.

Use supervision to deepen and explore your practice, work through complex cases, and share your thoughts without a mask or filter.

  • Communicate your way so you can feel heard and understood, and support your participants to express themselves, too
  • Develop a sustainable practice to feel good in your work, and protect against counsellor burnout AND neurodivergent burnout
  • Skip the small talk and dig into the conversations you want to have about your work, without judgment (and probably with enthusiasm)

Professionals Working with Neurodivergent Populations

Most counselling skills have value for everyone, but there are situations where therapeutic staples like open questions, silence, and “how does that make you feel?” won’t work the way you expect them to.

Supervision will offer practical tools, deeper insights into neurodiversity, and a chance to reflect on how your beliefs and assumptions might influence your work. Whether you’re navigating your own neurodivergence or learning how to best support others, this space is here to help you thrive.

  • Recognise diverse needs in your neurodivergent clients or colleagues, and adapt your approach to create an environment of acceptance and respect.
  • Shift the narrative from pathologising to affirming, exploring ways to support autonomy, creativity, and self-trust.
  • Address communication differences, manage expectations, and tailor therapeutic strategies for neurodivergent clients to better meet their goals.

This isn’t theory-only supervision — it’s grounded, reflective, and practical. You’ll walk away with strategies that genuinely help your clients thrive.

Why Neurodivergent-Affirming Supervision Matters

Narrative Supervision group session Melbourne

Support for Neurodivergent Practitioners

Many neurodivergent counsellors and therapists feel pressure to “mask” in professional spaces. Over time, that takes a toll on energy, creativity, and confidence.

Supervision gives you space to unmask, reflect on your identity, and work in ways that protect your mental health while maintaining professional boundaries.

Guidance for Allied Health and Mental Health Professionals

Even if you’re not neurodivergent, understanding neurodivergence deeply improves your work. You’ll learn to collaborate more effectively with ND clients, communicate without pathologising, and navigate ethical or clinical challenges with compassion and clarity.

Ethical, Reflective Growth

Neuroaffirming supervision helps you build awareness of bias and blind spots while encouraging curiosity rather than self-criticism. It’s about growth that feels supportive, not performative.

Available now — online and in person (Melbourne & Australia).

Individual Supervision

Individual supervision is great to deepen your self-knowledge and dedicate more time to complex cases and questions.

Suppose you’re a neurodivergent practitioner who finds face-to-face supervision unhelpful for your processing needs. In that case, there are asynchronous options that blend talk time with journaling and answering questions in your own time, to support your growth in whatever ways suit you best.

What You Can Expect

  • A neuroaffirming approach that values curiosity over perfection
  • Guidance with case reflection, ethical dilemmas, and boundaries
  • Mentorship that adapts to your communication and sensory needs
  • A safe space to unpack professional stress and celebrate wins

Each session is grounded in warmth, humour, and honesty — the kind of conversation that helps you grow without burnout.

Available now. Book online or reach out via the contact form below.

Group Supervision

Group supervision brings together counsellors to share insights, learn from each other, and deepen their practice in a supportive environment.

How I Work as a Supervisor

Your counsellor (Felix) guides the session with care and structure, not scripts or checklists — so you can feel understood and in control.

A Collaborative, Strengths-Based Model

Supervision isn’t about hierarchy — it’s a partnership. My approach combines narrative, trauma-informed, and neuroaffirming frameworks, focusing on what’s working and where we can grow.

Professional and Ethical Standards

As an ACA-accredited supervisor with over eight years of counselling experience, I recognise the complexity of being ethical, in-line with your values, and politically and socially aware, while also following professional and organisational guidelines.

Accessible and Inclusive

Sessions can be camera-off, typed, or adapted to suit sensory preferences. You don’t need to “perform professionalism” here — just show up as you are.

Why Choose Unmask Therapy

Enjoy a space that’s about your needs and priorities.

Experience That’s Lived and Learned

I’m Felix — a counsellor, clinical supervisor, and neurodivergent professional based in Melbourne. My lived experience allows me to understand both sides of the therapy room — the challenges of working in systems not built for neurodivergent minds, and the relief of finding a space where your brain makes sense.

A Safe, Authentic Space

You’ll never be asked to hide parts of yourself here. We’ll explore your professional growth through empathy, humor, and genuine curiosity.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where does your knowledge about Neurodiversity come from?

A mix of my lived experience, years of learning from Neurodivergent participants and fellow Neurodivergent counsellors, and intentionally studying and learning about current practice and research.

It’s about recognising that everyone’s brains have strengths, weaknesses, and unique needs, and actively adjusting supervision to make it accessible for those needs.

It’s also about recognising how society, stigma, and ablism impact our lives, and the lives of our participants.

By being flexible, talking to you about how you work best, and making changes to the format. This might involve cameras being on or off, communicating via text or images, or using journaling and emailing to give you processing time to answer questions.

Yes. As an ACA-accredited supervisor, sessions are recognised for professional development and registration renewal purposes.

Nope! You can diversify- and I encourage you to, so that you’re getting multiple professional perspectives. That said, if you find we’re a good fit and would like to join me for both individual and group supervision, you’re welcome to do so.
